SEATTLE – F5 Networks (NASDAQ: FFIV) today announced that it has again been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant of its Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs), published October 21, 2014.
“Making it easier for customers to quickly and securely deploy applications and services across their networks—in the data center or in the cloud—is our top priority,” said Manny Rivelo, EVP of Strategic Solutions at F5. “We feel being recognized for eight consecutive years as a Leader in the ADC Magic Quadrant is a powerful reflection of F5’s technology, our Synthesis™ vision, and the real business challenges customers are addressing.”
Gartner describes an Application Delivery Controller as “generally deployed in the data center [to] provide functions that optimize delivery of enterprise applications across the network. ADCs provide functionality for both user-to-application and application-to-application traffic. The ADC effectively bridges the gap between the application and underlying protocols and the traditional packet-based networks.”1
